TESTIMONIAL

KMPG New Employee Induction Courses (2007 – ongoing) In 2007 a consulting firm called Boxwood Limited (later bought by KPMG) contacted us to find out if we could send along an instructor to teach their representatives some tai chi and kickboxing. This was the start of an amazing business relationship and the reason why we founded Corporate Wellness & Events.   Paul Oakes, one of the leaders of the foundation course said, "Integrating exercise into our foundation training course is a key component and something which all new employees look forward to. The aim being to give new recruits an active lesson in the need to maintain a work life balance, starting with the training course. Chris Allen and the team at Corporate Wellness and events provided us with two very professional early morning sessions, Kick Boxing and Tai Chi, which see's the delegates arrive in the training room enthused and charged with energy having tried something new." KMPG purchased Boxwood Limited in 2015, and since then we have worked directly for KPMG and its staff as part of their induction process more or less every three months since 2007. “Chris has delivered a number of kickboxing and Tai Chi sessions on our corporate training courses and they have now become an integral part of our induction programme. The enthusiasm and professionalism of the services provided by Chris and the team are a credit to them and the reason we keep booking them”. D Hunter KPMG

TESTIMONIAL

Lloyds Bank PLC Work place Tai Chi sessions were the order of the day for some very busy and stressed out front line staff who were fielding alot of calls from customers who were unhappy about various aspects of either personal or business banking.  We work with Lloyds Banking Group delivering work place Tai Chi and Mindfulness workshops and regular classes to help their teams develop coping strategies for stress and to build their emotional resilience. With a time commitment of 20 minutes evert week we have assisted many staff to be able to take a "complete break" from work and we have been informed by the organiser that it has made a real difference in the emotional wellbeing of their staff. “Chris is an extremely talented martial arts instructor who came to teach classes at my place of work.  His enthusiasm and obvious enjoyment of his work were key in encouraging colleagues to take part.  Chris has excellent client skills and connected well with the participants. He created a programme of work for beginners which was challenging but at the same time achievable and above all was fun!   T. Millward, Lloyds Banking Group PL

BOARD BREAKING

Our Board Breaking events are extremely popular, especially to "kick-off" a day of activities or training. Board Breaking is the ultimate confirmation of your ability to overcome your fears of change or attempting the impossible. Our Board Breaking instructor is a highly skilled master of martial arts who will lead your teams through a series of martial art movements and teach them the correct technique to perform the break. Once your team is ready, they will be asked to write their challenge or fear on the board and with lots of energy and enthusiasm from their colleagues they will perform the break. The wood we use is a special theatrical type of soft-wood which is designed to break, there is minimal risk of injury and all safety equipment including gloves are provided. Delegates may keep the board as a souvenir and if you ask nicely our Master Instructor will perform a 6 or 8 board break to end the session. We can also perform fire breaks, (where the wood is on fire) should you need an impressive end to the day.
